About Sarah (MBAcC, LicAc)
Training and Philosophy
Sarah spent four years studying for her first class degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the City College of Acupuncture in London. She has also trained and practiced extensively within Advanced Acupuncture, also known as Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM). Sarah has had the privilege of studying the teachings of this lineage with 88th generation lineage holder Master Dr Yuen, through in-person and online lectures, and with senior student Ann Cecil-Sterman. In keeping with tradition, Sarah is also undergoing continued teaching and mentoring with her mentors Sean Tuten and Dr Hung Tran. She has learnt how profoundly beneficial natural medicine can be, not only in treating disease but in the prevention of illness, where it particularly excels. Her philosophy is to stimulate the body’s own innate healing process using Chinese medical theory, acupuncture, and other bodywork techniques, in order to bring balance to the mind, body and spirit.
Sarah is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), and abides by a code of ethics which maintains high standards of education, discipline and practice, and is a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network, a professional special interest group of acupuncturists dedicated to supporting those with fertility issues.
“I highly recommend Sarah to everyone. I had suffered from two miscarriages and started seeing Sarah for an alternative fertility treatment. Seeing her weekly also helped me centralise myself again and within two months of seeing her I fell pregnant again and am due at the end of the month.”

Sarah’s approach
Sarah’s unique approach is empathetic and gentle, placing a great deal of importance on educating patients about the correlation between disease and unhelpful daily lifestyle habits. Yang Sheng (nurturing life) is the ancient Chinese philosophy of achieving wellness and longevity through simple lifestyle techniques. These techniques have been tried and tested for millennia, and are perhaps even more necessary and relevant today. It is the role of the Chinese practitioner to understand what the patient is experiencing in that moment, and to support them returning to a state of optimum health and wellbeing.
Sarah practices Advanced Acupuncture, a comprehensive, highly sophisticated practice using all 68 acupuncture channels in their entirety. It differs from modern acupuncture, known as TCM, which focuses on selected points on only 12 channels. This knowledge enables Sarah to effectively treat the full spectrum of both acute and chronic conditions, using a range of techniques and modalities.
“My experience with Sarah has been life changing.”

Her Process
A treatment with Sarah will begin with an in-depth consultation to discuss your key concerns. In Chinese medicine nothing is irrelevant, and a holistic picture of the mind, body and spirit is taken into account, to understand what is going on for you at this moment in time. Therefore, it is important for your acupuncturist to ask a variety of questions such as the quality of your sleep or appetite that may seem irrelevant, but to the practitioner are key to getting to the root of what you are experiencing, and how it may have evolved. Sarah will then treat you using a range of modalities depending on what is required. Each person responds in their own way to the treatment. Some patients feel a deep sense of relaxation, and some experience bodily sensations such as tingling or warmth, as the body’s Qi is activated. Sarah will will offer tailored dietary and lifestyle techniques that can be implemented as part of your daily routine.
Acupuncture usually requires a series of sessions, and this varies greatly with each individual and condition. After your initial appointment Sarah will discuss this with you, and this will be repeatedly assessed throughout the course of your treatment.
